This International Standard gives terms for and definitions of pre-packaged chemicals used in the processing of silver halide based photographic materials, to permit correct usage. This International Standard does not restrict the manufacturer from adding additional information, but care shall be taken to ensure that this information is not in conflict with the information in this International Standard.

Requirements on hazard warnings, name and address of manufacturer or supplier, net content, etc., are not included, as national regulations vary throughout the world.
