This Part of BS 6586 specifies requirements for the composition and physical properties of rigid polyurethane (PUR) foam manufactured by the press injection method for use in the construction of insulated panels for transport containers and insulated vehicle bodies.

This Part of BS 6586 is not applicable to the in situ insulation of fully constructed transport containers and insulated vehicle bodies.


Primarily for quality assurance uses but a designation system has been introduced whereby the manufacturer declares the thermal conductivity in a cooled form. Not applicable to the insitu insulation of fully constructed containers and insulated vehicle bodies.
